I am slightly obsessed with smoothie bowls. Smoothie bowls are vibrant, easy to create, and filled with incredible nutrients. This one is inspired by beautiful berries and beets appearing at local farmers’ markets and continuing through the summer. Berry season is approaching, and I can’t get enough of the beet and berry combo. Beets are highly nutritious and pair beautifully with berries. Combined, this smoothie bowl is a powerhouse of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins. Add some almond butter and/or protein powder for extra healthy fats and protein, and VOILA! - a beautiful nutrient-dense breakfast!

The red color from beets and strawberries signifies a deep connection to love (hence the heart design). It’s no wonder that the beautiful red beet that stains its way to your kitchen table is filled with antioxidants that promote healthy hearts. The red pigment from beets is part of the “betalain” family of antioxidants, and this beautiful pigment helps balance blood pressure, increase circulation, and lower heart disease. Berries and beets are also high in Vitamin C, so this heart-healthy and immunity-boosting smoothie bowl is a wonderful nutritious treat for the family!
